Aurora Hunting Tour, Murmansk — A Small-Group Night Chase
This is ArcticLumin's core aurora hunt: a night chase in a warm minivan with a small group of fellow travelers. We don't wait at a fixed spot and hope — we monitor cloud cover and geomagnetic data in real time and drive to wherever the sky is clearest, sometimes 20 km from the city, sometimes 150.
Best for: solo travelers, small groups of friends, and anyone who wants the lowest-cost way to join a professionally guided hunt.
How the Night Works
Hotel pickup
We collect you and up to 7 other guests from your Murmansk hotel in a warm minivan, at a time set by that night's forecast.
Chasing clear sky
We drive out of the city glow, checking cloud radar and the Kp index as we go. Multiple stops if the first spot isn't working — the goal is clear sky, not a fixed location.
Aurora watching & photos
Hot tea and snacks while we wait. Your guide photographs you under the aurora when it appears.
